Reels, videos and stories
Reels are short vertical videos that stay on a profile until the owner deletes them. Regular uploads and longer clips are handled by the Facebook video downloader, and posts that vanish after a day by the Facebook story downloader. All three accept each other's links, so if you paste the "wrong" one, it still works.
Reposting a reel
Reels often use licensed music, and the creator owns the video. Downloading to watch offline is fine; if you want to post it again, ask the creator first and credit them in the caption.
FAQ
Questions people ask
How do I download a Facebook Reel?
Tap Share → Copy link on the reel, paste the link into the box above and tap Download. Pick HD or SD and the MP4 saves to your device.
Do downloaded reels keep their sound?
Yes. The audio is part of the MP4, exactly as it plays on Facebook.
Can I download Facebook Reels on iPhone?
Yes. Use Safari: paste the link here, tap download, then find the reel in Files under Downloads and save it to Photos.
Why does the reel save in low quality?
Some reels are only stored in SD, usually because they were uploaded that way. When an HD copy exists, it is listed first.
