How to download Instagram Reels on iPhone
Open the reel, tap the paper-plane icon and choose Copy link. Paste it here in Safari and tap the download button. The reel is saved to Files → Downloads; open it, tap Share and choose Save Video to put it in your camera roll.
How to download Instagram Reels on Android
Copy the reel link in the Instagram app, paste it here in Chrome and tap download. The MP4 appears in your gallery or Google Photos a moment later.
Saving a reel vs. downloading it
The bookmark icon in Instagram only saves a reel inside your account, and it disappears if the creator deletes it. Downloading keeps a real MP4 on your device that you can watch offline, trim or back up.
Reels with licensed music
Reels keep their soundtrack when you download them here. Licensed music is licensed to Instagram, not to you: fine for watching offline, not for re-uploading elsewhere. If you want someone's reel on your profile, Instagram's Remix is the polite route, or ask the creator and tag them.
