Facebook video downloader, HD or SD

Download public Facebook videos as MP4 files in HD or SD. Paste the video link below and save it to your phone or computer.

Links that work

  • facebook.com/watch?v=…
  • facebook.com/…/videos/…
  • facebook.com/share/v/…
  • fb.watch/…
  • facebook.com/reel/…

Public posts only. We never ask for your login.

Three steps

How it works

  1. Copy the video link

Tap Share under the video, then Copy link. On a computer, open the video on its own page and copy the address.

  2. Paste it above

We find the video and list every version Facebook offers, usually HD and SD.

  3. Choose HD or SD

HD looks best on a big screen. SD is a lighter file that is quicker to send in a chat.

Why use it

Small tool, no catches

HD when it exists
If the video was uploaded in high resolution, you get an HD option next to the standard file.
Long videos too
Short clips and hour-long uploads work the same way. Length doesn't matter.
Share links understood
Links from the app's Copy link button (facebook.com/share/…) and fb.watch short links are followed for you.
Plain MP4 files
Downloads are standard MP4 files that play on any phone, computer or TV.

How to download Facebook videos on iPhone

Open the video in the Facebook app, tap Share, then Copy link. Switch to Safari, open this page and paste the link. When the options appear, tap the quality you want; Safari asks to download it, and the file lands in Files under Downloads.

To move it into Photos, open the file in Files, tap the Share button and choose Save Video.

How to download Facebook videos on Android

In the Facebook app, tap Share and then Copy link. Paste it here in Chrome and tap a download button. The video goes to your Downloads folder and appears in Google Photos or your gallery a moment later.

How to download Facebook videos on PC or Mac

Click the video's date or title so it opens on its own page, copy the address from the browser bar and paste it here. Links to a post that contains a video work too, and so do videos on Pages and in public groups.

HD or SD: which one to pick

Facebook keeps an HD copy (usually 720p, sometimes 1080p) of videos that were uploaded in high resolution, and an SD copy of almost everything. HD is the one to keep; SD is a fraction of the size and fine for sending over WhatsApp or Messenger. If only SD is listed, that is the best version Facebook has.

Videos that can't be downloaded

Anything that isn't public: videos in private groups, posts shared with friends only, and paid or members-only content. A live stream can be saved once it has ended and Facebook has published the replay.

Looking for something shorter? Use the Facebook reels downloader for reels and the Facebook story downloader for stories.

Questions people ask

How do I download a video from Facebook?

Copy the video link (Share → Copy link), paste it into the box at the top of this page and tap Download. Choose HD or SD and the MP4 saves to your device.

Can I download Facebook videos without an app?

Yes. This downloader runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install on your phone or computer.

Why is there no HD option?

Facebook only keeps an HD copy when the video was uploaded in HD. If you only see SD, that is the best version available.

Does it work with videos from Facebook groups and Pages?

Yes for Pages and public groups. Videos in private groups are visible to members only, so we can't reach them.

Can I save a Facebook live video?

Once the live has ended and the replay is posted, paste the replay link and it downloads like any other video.

Will the person know I downloaded their video?

No. Facebook isn't told about downloads made here, and nothing is posted anywhere.
